Southern Stars now broadcasting on a TV near you!

Frost Global reported a few weeks ago on the lack of Australian TV coverage for the Women’s Ashes from England.

In good news for Aussie fans, Fox Sports has announced that it will broadcast the remaining three T20 internationals to Australian audiences.

In further good news, Channel 9 will broadcast the three corresponding T20s matches over the Australian summer. These matches will be broadcast as a double-header with each men’s T20 International between Australia and England.

Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland said:

“We have enjoyed a long partnership with Channel 9 that has led the way in Australian sports coverage and we are thrilled to expand our national free-to-air coverage into women’s cricket this summer.

Channel Ten will broadcast the women’s domestic T20 final.

These announcements are good news for women’s cricket and its fans, as for a while there it was looking like the two best women’s cricket teams would not have TV coverage in Australia.

The first game airs on Fox Sports at 3:30am Wednesday morning.
