On a day when major sporting events were being postponed or cancelled due to COVID-19, Australia\u2019s Seven Network has announced its team for its comprehensive coverage of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. While the current COVID-19 pandemic has placed a shadow over Games preparations, principally as to whether the Games will proceed, all involved are, at this stage, moving ahead with their Games plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Australia\u2019s longtime Olympic Network, Seven, will have all encompassing coverage of Tokyo 2020. Seven\u2019s coverage will be lead on Channel 7 and 7TWO, with another six channels of curated coverage on 7plus (registration for the curated coverage is required). Aside from the curated coverage online, there will be up to 40 streams available of every sport. This 24\/7 coverage is no surprise given sport rates and Australia\u2019s east coast, during Japan\u2019s summer, is only 1 hour ahead of Tokyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leading Seven\u2019s all encompassing coverage is the voice of the Olympics in Australia, Bruce McAvaney. This will be his 11th Olympics Games. He will be joined by an impressive line-up of coverage hosts and commentators, including: Hamish McLachlan, Mel McLaughlin, Johanna Griggs, Ian Thorpe, Anna Meares, Steve Hooker, Basil Zempilas, Phil Liggett and Pat Welsh. Complementing Seven sport\u2019s coverage of the all the action on the fields and in the water in Tokyo will be Seven\u2019s leading news brands with Sunrise live from Tokyo and 7News having a large team on the ground, including Chris Reason and Jim Wilson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once the Olympics is over, Seven will also have comprehensive coverage of the Tokyo Paralympics, with Johanna Griggs, Jim Wilson and Paralympic gold medallist Annabelle Williams anchoring the coverage across 7, 7TWO and 7plus featuring up to 16 live streams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
