As reported in yesterday’s Australian newspaper, One HD has signed four sponsors for the entire F1 season for the first time in its history.
According the the Australian newspaper, both¬ Harvey Norman and Enzed have renewed their sponsorships, while Bridgestone has gone from a spot buyer to be a season package holder. Joining last year’s F1 supporters for the first time are Qantas, Vodafone, Ashley & Martin and Mercedes.¬ One has also lured TEAC to TV advertising for the first time.
The money spent by these new sponsors appears to have already paid off. One’s Sunday night audience share according to OzTAM was 2.7% as opposed to 0.7% audience share on Sunday 7 March.
One also begins coverage of the Australian Swimming Championships today which will continue until Sunday. The Championships are the selection trials for this year’s Commonwealth Games, which One also holds the broadcast rights for along with Ten & Foxtel.
The Qantas Australian F1 GP is One’s next appointment on the F1 calendar which starts in the last week of March.
